Kleeneze

The REAL World - My Experience

The previous pages are taken straight from Kleeneze's leaflet 'The Opportunity', but what about what REALLY happens?. The following is about me and my experiences.

I am 35 years old, married, have three kids and work shifts. I have never been in business before, I have a very un-trusting mind, but I'm not afraid of hard work. I have heard of MLM (Multi level marketing), networking, get rich quick schemes and I always steer clear.

My brother and his fiance told me about Kleeneze, and knowing that they would not try something un-proven, I decided to have a look. My outlook was that the worst that could happen was that I would earn a few pounds a week 'pocket money' for a few hours work - anything more I considered a bonus.

I purchased a 'Retail Kit' for 55.00 and here follows a diary of my first two weeks:-

Wednesday 27th January 1999 - I received my 'Retail Kit'. I was impressed, it contained 50 catalogues, bags, order forms, videos, instructions, a shoulder bag, even a pen - Everything I needed to get started. I used my computer and printed out some 'Please leave the Catalogue out for collection on ???day' slips and some address labels.

Thursday 28th January 1999 - I put the catalogues, slips, specialogues and order forms in the bags.

Friday 29th January 1999 - I put 48 catalogues through the doors of the people who live in my street. The other two my wife took to work.

Sunday 31st January 1999 - I collected most of the catalogues. I had 41.39 worth of orders. I delivered the collected catalogues to other houses nearby.

Monday 1st February 1999 - I re-attended the houses that had not left out their catalogues and collected them.

Tuesday 2nd February 1999 - I collected the catalogues that I had delivered on Sunday. More orders!

Wednesday 3rd February 1999 - Collected catalogues not collected on Tuesday.

Thursday 4th February 1999 - Collected catalogues and orders. Re-delivered catalogues.

Friday 5th February 1999 - Collected catalogues not collected on Thursday.

Saturday 6th February 1999 - Collected catalogues and orders. Re-delivered catalogues.

Sunday 7th February 1999 - Collected catalogues not collected on Saturday.

Monday 8th February 1999 - Collected catalogues and orders. Filled in order form and sent it to Kleeneze. Re-delivered catalogues.

Tuesday 9th February 1999 - Collected catalogues not collected on Monday.

Wednesday 10th February 1999 - Order arrived from Kleeneze. I checked it and separated it into individual Kleeneze carrier bags. In the evening we delivered the goods to customers and collected payment.

Facts

  • On the above days, I 'worked' about 40 minutes per day, except the 10th (delivery day), when I 'worked' about 90 minutes.
  • During the above period I collected 248.98 in orders. This gave me 52.29 in profit!. Not bad for my first try!!
  • Cheques and credit cards all all catered for by Kleeneze.
  • 52.29 every two weeks is 1359.54 per year for less than 1 hour per day. What if I did 2 hours? 3 hours? Full time?
  • If I can do it, ANYONE CAN.

    The Future

What now? Well I ordered another 50 catalogues with my order, some carrier bags and some catalogue bags (some are supplied, but I paid a little extra for 'snappy' bags that keep the catalogues in better condition). I also received 25 catalogues free. In just two weeks I am well on my way to recovering my outlay. How many business opportunities give you that so quickly?

I will continue delivering and collecting the catalogues. My initial aim was to earn 30.00 per week pocket money. It seems now that I will do that with very little effort at all. IF things take off then it will be nice, but I am not relying on it.

Things should get easier - I now have 22 customers - In about four weeks I will re-visit my customers and I am told that I can expect a high re-order rate. That means (i) My time will be spent more productively by only delivering catalogues to known customers or (ii) I can increase my income by using existing customers and looking for new ones.....Where will it end?
